On monday january 3rd  fans rushed to florida to watch the outstanding Stanford Cardinals defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies to claim the orange bowl title and their first bowl victory in 14 years.

Andrew luck showed his prowess on the field once more and threw for 287 yards and 4 touchdowns to secure the victory as well as a touchdown from Owen Maricec the two way starter and another 60 yard touch down run from Jeremy Stewart.

This victory brought the Cardinals excellent season to a grand finale and a spot in the history books.

STANFORD TO GO TO THE ORANGE BOWL

Stanford, with a record of 11 and 1 is going into the orange bowl against Virginia tech University with a good chance at winning it in my opinion partially because of stanfords pro style offense and partially because of the many injurys and suspensions for virginia tech.  Led by Heisman finalist quarterback Andrew Luck Stanfords season has been unbelievable and I hope to see many more good things on  monday january third, when the Discover Orange Bowl is being played in Florida.

stanford big win over california

In this weekends game stanford dominated its great rival california 48-14.

On Stanfords first possession They scored on a 95 yard drive highlighted by quarterback Andrew luck's 58 yard run during which he knocked the california strong safety to the ground with his shoulder. Here is the run

Stanford's record is now 10-1 which makes them serious bowl contenders which they haven't been in quite some time. Stanford only has one big obstacle standing in their way to the bowl which is Oregan, Oregan is ranked number one in the entire ncaa and stanford has already lost once to them this year but hopefully when they meet again we can say differently.
